Sant Ayisyen- Retail Design

My Graduate 1 project centered on a retail design initiative aimed at combating gentrification in Little Haiti, a culturally rich and diverse neighborhood. The project explored the intersection of retail development and cultural preservation, addressing the tension between new commercial growth and the traditional essence of the community. Through thoughtful design interventions, the project sought to create retail spaces that celebrate and uplift the local culture, ensuring that the stories and livelihoods of long-standing residents are preserved. By integrating elements of Little Haiti’s history, art, and music, this retail design project aimed to resist displacement and support cultural resilience amidst urban transformation.
